Summary
Accompanied by Midnight Oil’s song One Country, this is a video chronicle by the Labour Council of New South Wales highlighting the fight against the Howard Gover 2005 attack on workplace rights. Opening with footage of John Howard celebrating his legislation in Parliament, the video intercuts footage and news broadcasts of workers toiling and commenting on the legislation, protest marches, union leaders speaking, a Town Hall protest meeting in Sydney, workers talking about the loss of family time, scenes from the union ad campaign ‘Your rights at work’ as well as ‘Your rights at work on the road 2005’ bus campaign around the country. The video features concerned Australians joining the campaign against Howard’s workplace laws.
